The Right Way to Buy a Used Truck

0

Used trucks may not have the latest features, but they can be better suited to your needs. You’ll also save a lot of money on purchase and insurance if you go the used-truck route. Whether you’re buying used pickups or large delivery trucks, the ideal thing would be to find one that’s under ten years old. Larger commercial trucks can be slightly older without hurting vehicle quality. Some older models are actually preferred because they don’t have electronic logging devices, EGR and DPF filters that have caused engine problems in the past.

Pickup Trucks

The smooth and solid Dodge Ram 1500 (2014) is an excellent choice. Three cab choices were available, so you can search for a configuration that suits you. It was also equipped with cruise control, automatic headlights, and a six-speaker sound system.

Next comes the 2013 Ford F-150 that was also available in a limited edition trim. It featured hill descent control and a number of engine options. There’s also a large touchscreen for infotainment.

Finally, comes the mid-size 2016 Chevrolet Colorado that’s a little smaller than the Silverado. Its size and rearview camera make it easy to park, and its six-speaker sound system with a touchscreen keeps you entertained. Three powertrain options were available, so you can choose one that suits your requirements.

All of the above trucks can be found for under $25,000.

Logistics Trucks

The Mercedes-Benz Actros 2653 has its engine located in the lower cab that serves to boost aerodynamic performance. It’s also known for its great fuel economy. It’s not the cheapest, but it is a very popular model.

The Mitsubishi Fuso Canter is a medium-duty truck that’s been a popular choice for ages. There’s even an Eco Hybrid version should you be interested in that. Mitsubishi is also planning on releasing a fully electric version.

But the truck that offers the best value for money is undoubtedly the Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter. It is durable, handles well, and holds on to its value too. So, when the time comes that you’re ready for an upgrade, you can be sure that it will fetch a good price.
